1. Pre-Flow and Post-Flow Gas Control

  • Some TIG machines allow pre-flow gas control to purge the weld area before ignition, ensuring clean weld starts.

  • Post-flow gas shielding protects the weld while cooling, preventing oxidation and contamination.

2. HF (High-Frequency) Start

  • Many TIG machines offer high-frequency start, which allows arc ignition without direct contact between the tungsten electrode and the workpiece.

  • Reduces contamination and prolongs electrode life.

3. Lift-Arc Start Option
